U15 Women’s Softball Team competes in Asia Cup in Taiwan
The Korea National Under-15 Women’s Softball Team will compete in the inaugural U-15 Women’s Softball Asia Cup from 13-17 June in Buri, Taiwan.
“The inaugural U-15 Women’s Softball Asia Cup is a competition to determine the best youth softball teams in Asia,” the Korea Baseball Softball Association said on 9 June. “It was strategically prepared by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and Softball Asia (SA) to create a youth softball boom in Asia and around the world. Korea will also be competing in the Asia Cup.”
The top two teams from the Asia Cup will qualify for the inaugural U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup in Japan this October. If World Cup host Japan finishes runner-up or better, the third-place finisher in the Asia Cup will also qualify for the World Cup.먹튀검증
The Asia Cup will feature seven nations – host Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and India – in a four-day qualifying pool. The first and second place finishers in the pool play in the final, while the third to sixth place teams, excluding the seventh place finisher, play in a ranking match.
Korea will open the tournament on the 13th against the Philippines, who they must beat to reach the final.
The team has been training at Guam High School in Daegu since the 6th of this month.
“Our primary goal is to qualify for the final,” said head coach Lee Sang-hyun. “It was a short training period, but the whole team did their best, and now it’s just a matter of giving it our all on the pitch. We can do it and we will do it,” he said.
