The New York Mets of Major League Baseball have sent a warning to Shohei “Idoryu” Ohtani (29-LA Angels). For the second day in a row, the Mets were so impressed with Ohtani’s incredible power that they wrote a joke on the scoreboard.

Here’s the story. Ohtani was batting second in the lineup against the New York Mets at Citi Field in Queens, New York, USA on April 27. In the first inning, he swung hard at the first pitch. With the bases loaded and the count 2-1, he hit a hard pitch. The ball stretched out and looked like a potential home run.

Traveling at 107.3 miles per hour (172.7 kilometers per hour), the ball cleared the fence in right field and hit a billboard just off to the side. It was a foul home run. It punched a hole in the top of the beer billboard. The Mets immediately stamped a warning message on the center field scoreboard. We’re sending you the bill for that, Shohei. We’re sending Ohtani the bill (for the smashed billboard).

The playful warning didn’t faze Ohtani. In the ensuing at-bat, he came up with the big hit. On a 2-2 pitch count, he produced an even faster pitch, clocking in at 109.6 miles per hour (176.4 kilometers per hour). It was a one-out double to the right-center field fence.

On the day, he went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, one RBI and two runs scored. It was a multi-hit, four-strikeout game that helped the Angels to a 5-3 victory. The Mets posted another warning on the center field scoreboard ahead of the 28th game. Please don’t break anything else, Shohei! Please don’t break anything else, Ohtani!토토사이트

The second warning worked. The second warning seemed to chill him, and he went 0-for-4 in his 28th at-bat. He struck out twice. The Mets shut him down, scoring runs in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the 3-2 victory.
