Reporter Yoon-jun Go = Preston Tucker, who has been playing for the Kia Tigers in the KBO League since 2019 and is well-known to domestic fans, has found a new team.

‘San Diego Union-Tribune’ reporter Jeff Sanders said on the 13th (Korean time), “San Diego has agreed to a minor league contract with outfielder Tucker. In addition, he also signed contracts with right-handed pitchers Anderson Espinoza and Drew Carlton.”

Tucker began his professional career with the Houston Astros in the 2012 draft. After that, he made his debut in 2015 and recorded his batting average of 0.243 and 13 home runs with an OPS of 0.734, making him look forward to his future. 메이저놀이터

However, he suffered a sharp slump in 2016 with a batting average of 0.164, and then went through the Cincinnati Reds and the Atlanta Braces. After touring the minor leagues, Tucker turned to Korea and signed a contract with the Kia Tigers.

Tucker was recruited as a replacement for Jeremy Hazlebaker in 2019 and stayed in Korea for three seasons. He failed to renew his contract after posting a career batting average of 0.284, 50 homers, and 222 RBIs with an OPS of 0.838, and returned to the United States this season.

He signed a minor league contract with Atlanta, but failed to return to the big leagues. At Triple-A, he posted a batting average of .267 with 9 homers, 47 RBIs and an OPS of .773. After the season, he was released as a free agent, and San Diego embraced him.

“MLB Trade Rumors” said, “Tucker is the older brother of Houston star outfielder Kyle Tucker. He also spent three seasons in Korea, and he had good results in Triple A this season,” he explained. If Tucker succeeds in returning to the big leagues, he is expected to hit the ground with Ha-Sung Kim.
