An intense first at-bat, two doubles, three futile strikes…and Bae couldn’t smile.
A hard-hitting double, three strikeouts.
Bae Ji-hwan of the Pittsburgh Pirates of the American Major League Baseball added a double. But three strikeouts later, his RBI and run-scoring numbers were overshadowed by his team’s loss.
Bae started at first and second base for the Pirates against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 28. Since returning from an ankle injury, Bae has been making his presence felt in the leadoff spot. He also hit a double today.
He showed his hot bat in the first inning. In his first at-bat, Bae hit a double to right-center field against Asad. It was his 12th double of the season. Pittsburgh got off to a bad start in the top of the first inning, scoring a run to tie the game at 1-1 after Bae’s double.
But that was it. Neither Bae nor Pittsburgh could get anything going. Bae struck out in his second and third at-bats against Assad. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh fell apart. Pittsburgh didn’t score a run until the fourth and fifth innings, when they gave up two and three runs in a row.토토사이트
The Pittsburgh offense was overwhelmed by Assad. He pitched seven innings of one-run ball, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out seven. Only No. 1 Bae Ji-hwan was able to reach base in his fourth at-bat. However, he struck out the side in the eighth inning off reliever Thompson. Pittsburgh scored one run in the eighth and three more in the ninth to lose 10-1.
Bae’s batting average remains at 2.337 on the season.
