‘2-hit, 1-RBI’ Yoshida wins decision over ‘1-strikeout’ Ohtani…Japan’s WBC champions meet the rest of the way
The pitching core that helped Japan win the WBC in March met in the majors. Masataka Yoshida (Boston Red Sox) won a decision over Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels).
Yoshida started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on April 23 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, USA. He was more impactful than Ohtani, who went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout as the No. 3 designated hitter. Ohtani is batting .282 on the season.
Yoshida stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning. He faced Angels starter Jamie Berea. He hit a slider but was retired on a grounder to the first baseman. Ohtani then faced Boston starter Tanner Hauck with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning and calmly picked off a slider and cutter. Hunter Renfroe’s line drive to third base ended the inning.먹튀검증
