The lineup is George Springer (right field), Bo Bissett (shortstop), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (designated hitter), Spencer Horwitz (first base), Davis Schneider (second base), Cavan Biggio (third base), Dalton Bashaw (left field), Kevin Kiermaier (center field), and Tyler Heinemann (catcher). The starting pitcher is Hyun-jin Ryu.

In the absence of Danny Jansen, Heinemann will play catcher. It’s the second straight game with Heinemann.

Alejandro Kirk was expected to start in order to bolster the offense, but Heinemann took advantage of the opportunity.

As in the last game, Ryu Hyun-jin could be sent down and replaced by Kirk.

Brandon Belt, who started the previous game but had to leave with back spasms, was placed on the disabled list.

Horwitz, who pinch-hit for Belt in the previous game, will start at first base and Nathan Lukes has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.

Five lefties were in the lineup, including Heinemann, a switch-hitter, to face Max Scherzer.

Notably, the sixth through ninth spots will be left-handed for four straight batters.
